SEAMPHONI has successfully established liaison relationships with ISO/TC 43/SC 3 Working Group (WG)1 (Measurement of Underwater Sound from Ships) and Working Group 5 (Measurement and Modelling of Underwater Ambient Sound). This marks an important step in connecting the project's research activities with international standardization efforts in underwater acoustics.

WG 1 develops international standards for the measurement, characterization and assessment of underwater sound generated by vessels under different environmental and operational conditions. WG 5 focuses on methods for monitoring underwater ambient sound, including acoustic measurements, sound mapping and modelling approaches used to better understand underwater soundscapes.

Through these liaisons, SEAMPHONI can share project knowledge, monitoring approaches, and scientific results directly with international experts involved in the development of global standards. The collaboration also enables the project to follow ongoing standardization activities and contribute research-based input to future standards in areas closely related to SEAMPHONI's work on passive acoustic monitoring and marine ecosystem assessment.

By fostering closer cooperation between research and standardization, SEAMPHONI helps ensure that future international standards can benefit from the latest scientific advances.
