The SEAMPHONI project took part in the 2026 European Ocean Days, held from 2–6 March in Brussels, by presenting an e-poster and a brochure during the 4th Annual Mission Ocean and Waters Forum. Displayed throughout the event, the poster and brochure offered high visibility to the project among researchers, policymakers, Mission projects, and stakeholders from across Europe.
The Forum took place on 5 March at the Charlemagne Building in Brussels. It brought together projects, Charter signatories and key stakeholders to exchange knowledge and discuss innovative solutions supporting the EU Mission "Restore our Ocean and Waters". The event formed part of a broader week dedicated to ocean-related initiatives, fostering collaboration, networking and knowledge exchange across the Mission Ocean community.
SEAMPHONI's e-poster and the brochure presented the project's vision of strengthening ecosystem-based assessment and monitoring of offshore marine protected areas through the integration of environmental DNA (eDNA), passive acoustics, imaging technologies and digital tools into a shared observing system. By showcasing its innovative approach, SEAMPHONI highlighted how next-generation monitoring technologies can improve biodiversity assessments, support evidence-based marine conservation, and contribute to the effective implementation of the EU Mission Ocean and Waters.
